According to a 2004 research conducted by The Eye Diseases Prevalence Research Group, it is estimated that, without improvements in preventing and treating eye diseases, the number of blind or visually impaired Americans will grow to approximately 5.5 million by the year 2020.

This staggering number brings to light the importance of effective and sustainable eye care, especially in a developing nation like Malaysia, where we are exposed to similar risks as our American counterparts, but with lesser access to quality ophthalmologic treatments.

The brainchild of Malaysian ophtalmological expert, ELC Eye Laser Centre is a hub for advanced eye diagnosis, care and surgery, bringing together a wealth of expertise coupled with high-technology ophthalmologic equipment.

The Directors of ELC Eye Laser Centre have held positions in the medical business for more than 16 years, and were closely involved with both the initial study of the Excimer Laser technology conducted over 16 years ago as well as its eventual introduction into Malaysia in 1993. Since then, the Excimer Laser technology has been the standard application for the treatment of short-sightedness. Furthermore, our involvement in the use of Broad Beam Excimer Lasers has allowed us to gain comprehensive knowledge, competencies and expertise required to optimise the effectiveness of Excimer Lasers with flying spot.

ELC Eye Laser Centre is built on a foundation of constant innovation and progress. We are able to access the technological discoveries and developments to provide the, efficient solutions to our customers. For instance, we have at our disposal the advanced LASIK and PRK procedures including the powerful Flying Spot Scanning Method. This allows us to perform LASIK, PRK and customised ablation or Eagle Eye Vision procedures with complete accuracy and almost flawless success rate. For cataract surgery, we also employ Phaco Laser technology that is designed to remove early-stage cataracts in a matter of seconds.
